Why do we need math?
Well, mathematics is a life skill. It is more than just numbers and operations. Math makes you a critical thinker, a problem solver, and a life long learner. Some of the basic life skills you need are how to balance your savings and checking accounts, how to figure out your taxes, tips, mark-ups, and discounts. You do want to get the best value for your money don't you? How about budgeting your income, so that you always know where your money is going. How about the purchase of your first car or home? That's a life skill. Don't let mathematics intimidate you. It doesn't always come easy, but the more you practice, the better you get at it. Don't underestimate yourself; there is a mathematician inside you, all you have to do is try and never, ever give up.
